Substitute Shopping Finds
“for the fashion-minded frugal trend finder”
There is nothing like finding an AMAZING article of clothing when you’re shopping only to be hit by the devastating blow that it’s WAYYY over your budget. So, this post is dedicated to the pieces I was DYING to have in my closet but couldn’t afford the purchase. I mean c’mon we’re Broke and Shameless, and it’s one of those times where we must make substitutions for the sake of our budgets but never for the sake of our closets! Am I right?!
First Things First: DREAM BOOTS
Since my graduation trip I have been obsessed with a pair of boots from the company Zadig and Voltaire. I saw them in their store while shopping on the Champs Elysées, them saw the boots again at their store in Dublin. Needless to say, these shoes have been running through my mind ever since, but the $700 price tag wasn’t working for me. This season has been all about finding those boots that just hit the spot.
Zadig and Voltaire
Low Boots Zag Biker Deluxe $700
Sooo….I started researching for some bad ass substitutes and this is what I found…
(has a bunch of like options like)
Buckled Leather Biker Boot $139
Leather Biker Bootie $119 (for a cleaner biker style)
and even H & M
has their take on the Biker Buckle style….
Qulited Boot $59.50 (has the Gold Buckle effect)
Second Set of Dream Booties: Army Addition
There is a second pair of boots however, with a slightly different style, that I’ve been drooling over as well
Dr Martens Ferdinand Cavalry Boot
They were sold out on Doc Marten’s website by the time I laid my eyes on these bad boys but other places such as Zappos, Planet Shoes, and Ebay are selling them anywhere from $170-300 something, and they are very hard to find, so here are some great substitutes I found as well!
Buckled Leather Army Boot $139 (for the wrap over buckle look)
H & M
These Buckle boots $49.50 (my favorite option and with an inside zipper)
and finally on a literal side…From a company dedicated to recreating WWII styled- army boots
SM Wholesale Footwear
US WWII Two Buckle Combat Boots $150 (maybe too literal)
Needless to say, If you really like an article of clothing and can’t get it out of your head, chances are bigger Fast Fashion companies such as Forever 21, H&M, Zara, and many more have your season fix. But, if you’re truly desiring the big expensive real deal, start saving all your pennies! Have a lump sum in your account set aside each season for that 1 lavish piece you know you HAVE to have and can’t part with! That way you don’t feel guilty for your purchase, OR regret never coping up some extra bucks for that one have-to-have piece. Either way, you got options ladies…….LOTS OF ‘EM! So get to shopping!
