And no people, get your mind out of the gutter....
This weekend was Grunge-me-not’s 22nd b-day, and the 2 of us,including our other best friends, gave the East Coast some significant T-lovin’-C. Between driving from NJ for our Thursday and Friday night adventures in Philly and Manayunk, and the Saturday night and Sunday adventures in Baltimore and Annapolis; I’m exhausted!
Some Recap of This Weekend's Festivities:
That being said, this week’s post is a few takes on the different types of tired and lazy, and ways to pull them off. Even while feeling like a zombified-makeupless-sleep deprived-day dreading-flop.
Sometimes its just too hard to care about what to wear when you’re tired.
We get that, we were sleep-deprived design majors for 4 years.
Here’s how to embrace the tired and rock the lazy.
Love the bedhead. Cue the flannel. And make leggings socially acceptable.
The "I hate pants and my contacts" tired:
I am almost blind and hate pants with a passion, and if you have the same types of loathing grab a comfy maxi and a large sweater and scarf to give your contact-less look and more intelligent and studious feel to it.
The "It's raining and there is no point" tired:
Being outside in the rain in the fall and spring is not fun, especially when you have to wake up early for an outdoor event and your exhausted. Find a cute raincoat, you favorite leggings, a clutch baseball cap to avoid wetness, a pair of rain boots, warm socks and a shirt underneath that applies to your outdoor adventure (like a jersey for the football game you woke up at 6am for).
The "cozy sweater because I might be getting a cold" tired:
The feeling of getting sick sucks, and sleep always feels like the best thing. But when you can’t sleep in and have to start the day, grab your favorite and most comfortable sweater to wrap up in, simple leggings and comfortable boots to pretend like you want to be awake.
The "It might not being raining outside, but it definitely is in my mind" tired:
Sometimes leggings, a fun jacket with a good flannel just feels right. Add your favorite boots and a baseball hat to the complete the look. The flannel and jacket keep you warm when you’re running errands and a hat speaks the unspoken “I-woke-up-early-for-these-errands-ok?!” bed head vibe.
The "didn't wash my hair (really applies to all hat styles)" tired:
We all have one of those days when we’re in a rush and its just a day too long past when you really should have watched your hair. Good thing beanies and hats can be seen as a fashion statement. Make your look completed with one of your go-to “should have washed my hair hats” and the day won’t be as greasy as you’ve imagined it to be I promise.
It’s ok to have a lazy day, not everyone is on 24/7! Be Comfortable and embrace the occasional tired!
